I’ve waited a long time for this, kids. I was patient when I learned that the April release date was pushed back to the first week of June. Then I had to bite my pillow when I found out it had been pushed back even further to June 28th, but guess what? June 28th is tomorrow!!!!
Let me give you a few reasons to be pumped about this movie:
1. Melissa McCarthy is beautiful and amazing and funny and she should be in every movie always. My only complaint is that I would like to see her be allowed to be as pretty as she actually is and be in a role where that’s acceptable. It’s been a long time since she played Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls, people. I’d like to see more roles like that, please!
2. Sandra Bullock is back to doing what she does best – comedy. Forget her dramatical work. Bullock shines best when she’s got some physical comedy goin’ on. It took me a while to come to terms with my Sandra Bullock love. I didn’t want to love her, but here I am… loving her. Out in the open. That’s right. If you aren’t able to come to terms with your Sandra Bullock feelings, then I suggest you watch While You Were Sleeping and reconsider.
3. It’s a buddy cop movie starring women!!!! Did you hear what I just said?? Why aren’t there more movies starring funny, talented ladies? Especially movies where the plot doesn’t involve a wedding. Seriously, Hollywood, haven’t we made enough movies about women coming to terms with themselves and their friendships because someone’s getting married? Can we move beyond this now? I’m pretty sure most of my emotional breakthroughs and advancements in maturity had nothing to do with anyone I know getting married or me being a bridesmaid. Okay? Being single or not single aren’t the only qualities that women define themselves by. Okay? Alright? Alright.
In summation: THE HEAT IS COMING OUT TOMORROW, FRIDAY, JUNE 28TH AND WE ALL HAVE TO SEE IT TOGETHER SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT OUR FEELINGS AFTER!!!!! SO MANY FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, to help you get even more pumped, listen to this song and feeeel the heeeeat (are you gonna do it?):
p.s. If this song isn’t in the movie, then somebody really dropped the ball and missed a beautiful opportunity.
