Monday Morning Mixtape: Halloween Horror Hip Hop

I feel like someone somewhere would beat me up for the mixtape I have made this morning. Whether it would be for including Vanilla Ice or not, I’m pretty certain the answer would be in the affirmative.

When referring to horror films, I use the term pretty loosely here, though I do think that any film featuring giant turtle costumes is pretty freaking scary. Especially if they are all oily and anthropomorphized.

It’s interesting that there is such a proliferation of horror film related rap & hip hop music. I suppose the nature of the genre is all about braggadocio and to say or imply you are in some way connected to a horror film subject is indeed terrifying. That and I am assuming that getting a song on a film soundtrack pays pretty well.

But what do I know? I have been listening to the soundtrack to Ghostbusters 2.

Enjoy this morning’s mix!
